 ARMOURPLATE ANTI SPAM - FAQs
What is the ArmourPlate Anti Spam Service?
AP Anti Spam is a fully managed service which protects your business from spam (junk mail).
Is ArmourPlate Anti Spam a boxed software product?
No. It is a managed service, operated at the Corpex data centre in London, UK.
Will it slow down my company's email?
No, AP Anti Spam will have no perceptible effect on the speed of your email.
Is it disruptive or difficult to set up?
No, it is straightforward. Regardless of how many email users you have in your company, both the AP Anti Spam and Anti Virus services are exceptionally easy to set-up and administer.
Do we have to be an existing Corpex customer?
No, any company can use AP Anti Spam (in conjunction with AP Anti Virus), irrespective of which service provider you use for other Internet services.
When ArmourPlate Anti Spam discovers a spam mail, what happens?
Spam emails are stopped and placed in a separate Spam mailbox for each user. This can be viewed via the Web Interface and moved to a user's Inbox if desired. Occasionally, an email has 'borderline' spam characteristics; this will be placed in a "Possible Spam" mailbox and an alert mail is sent to the user. Spam email is deleted after 30 days.
How do we know that the email we receive has definitely been scanned?
A footer will appear on all scanned email advising you that it has been scanned.
Can we tailor the email filtering to our company or individual user requirements?
Yes, you can do both. At company and user level you can add sender addresses to your 'White Lists' and block sender addresses using company and user 'Black Lists'. This way, within a short space of time, each company and user should have complete control over the emails that they wish to receive.
How do you keep track of new spamming techniques?
The ArmourPlate spam scanner, Robot 5, uses proprietary technology to combat spammers as they continually change their methodology to try and avoid detection. The ArmourPlate Anti Spam team constantly reviews the characteristics of spam mail and revises the Robot 5 system "Rules" to counteract new techniques being used by spammers in order to safeguard your company's email security.
Do I need to have a certain number of employees to subscribe to ArmourPlate Anti Spam?
No, ArmourPlate is cost effective for companies both large and small.
